God of War Meets Dark Souls in New Action RPG You Can Play Free

Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember isn't coming out until March 2027, but developers Koei Tecmo have just released a special, limited-time Alpha demo version of the game that players can get their hands out now. The Alpha version of the game is only available until September 30, giving players a small window to check out the game nearly six months before it's actually released.

This God of War x Dark Souls inspired title is the sequel to the original Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, taking everything that made the first title work up a notch. A new release date trailer has shown off exactly what Koei Tecmo has planned for their next title, and it looks exciting, dangerous, and everything else that made Fallen Dynasty worth playing.

Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember Is Releasing a Limited-Time Alpha Gameplay Demo

On March 4, 2027, players can get their hands on Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember, but they don't have to wait that long for a first look. The Alpha demo is here for the next two weeks, giving players an incredibly rare opportunity to check out this title a full six months before its release date.

It's available for download on Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox on PC. Koei Tecmo has also begun pre-orders of Wo Long 2, and pre-order buyers will be receiving the Creator God Armor Set and access to purchase the Harvest God Armor Set. The Digital Deluxe Version of the game is also here, with a digital mini soundtrack, digital art book, and Shietieshou Hat included.

The Digitial Deluxe Version includes both the base game and a season pass, giving gamers access to the DLC that is set to come out with Wo Long 2. It's a great chance for fans of the franchise to check the game out, and an even better opportunity for gamers who have never touched the Wo Long franchise to see what the game feels like.

Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember Releases March 7, 2027

Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember will build on the Chinese martial arts that the first game uses as its foundation. It will also allow characters to fight using six different weapon classes, each with their own move set. Levels are set to be more open than in the first Wo Long, giving players a chance to explore the world like never before.

Wo Long 2, like the original Wo Long, is set during one of the most interesting periods of Chinese history. It's set during the Three Kingdoms period, an era marked by war, countless battles, and some of the most stories names in China. It's set after Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty and takes place in a dark fantasy version of the era.

It's not often that a game is playable six months before its release. Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember looks amazing, and gamers will get to test it out themselves from now until September 30 while the playable Alpha demo version of the game is open to all.
