Narrative Exploration Game ‘Virtue and a Sledgehammer’ Launches October 27, Free

Deconstructeam, Selkie Harbour, and Devolver Digital have announced that their narrative exploration game Virtue and a Sledgehammer will launch for PC via Steam on October 27, 2026, for $14.99. A free demo is currently available.

The protagonist returns to the remains of their hometown, where android versions of digitized former residents have taken over. Exploration revolves around a sledgehammer that can be used against the machines and to demolish buildings when there is no conventional path forward.

Tearing through locations from the protagonist’s childhood brings back memories of family and life in the town, including painful experiences. Interactive sequences explore the protagonist’s fears, desires, and relationships as more of their past comes back into focus.

Deconstructeam previously developed The Red Strings Club, while Selkie Harbour worked on Many Nights a Whisper.
