Kingdom Hearts x Fortnite to launch Sora and three other skins this week

The wait is almost over as the Kingdom Hearts x Fortnite collab is finally coming to fruition this coming week. Epic Games has begun promoting the crossover and confirmed that the main character, Sora, will get a Fortnite skin alongside three other characters.

All confirmed Kingdom Hearts characters coming to Fortnite (Sora, Riku, Kairi, and Roxas)

Epic Games’ promotional material confirms the roster of Kingdom Hearts characters via direct quotes that will be available as Fortnite skins this week. They are as follows:

• Sora – “A scattered dream that’s like a far-off memory… a far-off memory that’s like a scattered dream…”
• Riku – “If the world is made of light and darkness… We’ll be the darkness.”
• Kairi – “And who knows, starting a new journey might not be so hard…”
• Roxas – “Looks like my summer vacation is… over.”

Although more could emerge in Chapter 7 Season 4 ahead of the launch of Kingdom Hearts IV, this appears to be the final lineup. Sora leads the pack as the series’s most iconic character, sporting his Keyblade, which will be available as an item during a future Fortnite update.

All four characters have a close relationship with Sora; Riku is his friend and rival, Kairi is a female protagonist and their friend, and Roxas was the first playable character in Kingdom Hearts 2 and is eventually revealed to be Sora’s “Nobody.”

What can I expect in this collab?

The only confirmed Kingdom Hearts cosmetics thus far are the Fortnite skins for Sora, Riku, Kairi, and Roxas. It’s safe to assume Sora will have a Keyblade Pickaxe, but we also know that it will be an in-game item. Whether that will conflict with the presumed Pickaxe is unknown.

When is Sora coming to Fortnite?

According to a leak from earlier this year, Fortnite’s next update will occur on Thursday, Sept. 17. That could be the day we see the Keyblade item in-game alongside the Kingdom Hearts Item Shop update.

We also expect Epic Games to announce a Fortnite tournament where players can unlock the Sora skin for free before it hits the Item Shop. That will likely occur on Sept. 16 or 17 based on recent history with free skin competitions.
