Pokémon Unite closing down on March 23rd, 2027

It’s been announced that Pokémon Unite will close down on March 23, 2027. The game, which will have been running for almost six years when it closes, first launched back in July 2021 and came to both Nintendo Switch and mobile.

Following the announcement, you can no longer buy any gems in-game, and if you have a subscription to the game, it’ll be cancelled immediately as well. There will be an in-game event starting November 12 that will let you swap Unite Coins for in-game items and cosmetics before the game closes.

Once the game does close, you won’t be able to play any online matches (which is the entire point of the thing), but you can still view your stats, achievements and practice.

When it was announced that Pokémon Unite would not be included in the Pokémon World Championships starting in 2027, many expected this announcement to follow.
